MEET Emma Horn, Animal Science GRADUATE STUDENT

What is the most exciting part of your job?
The most exciting part of my job is having unlimited access to new knowledge, skills, and experiences!

Who inspires you?
My mom and dad inspire me! They are the hardest working and most devoted people I know.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a kid, I wanted to be a paleontologist like Dr. Grant in Jurassic Park.

What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
My favorite thing to do on the weekends is hang out with my paint horse, Astro! He is super spoiled and loves attention!

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
My hidden hobbies are playing the violin and kayaking with my dog, Calvin! My fiancé and I also raise bees in our backyard!

What’s a skill you’d like to improve on?
A skill I would like to improve on is working in the MetaboAnalyst software. This is challenging to work with but its so rewarding when I finally figure something out!

What piece of advice would you give your 18 year old self?
A piece of advice I would give my 18 year old self is: “Be fearless in your decisions and always put yourself first.”

What’s your least favorite chore around the house?
My least favorite chore around the house is folding laundry, especially fitted bed sheets. Please send help if you actually know how to do this
