MEET August Westmoreland, STUDENT SUPPORT AND RECORDS SPECIALIST
What is the most exciting part of your job?
Since I am a new employee, everything is new and exciting. I can’t wait to become better at my position to better serve the Animal Science students and community!
Who inspires you?
My family and Dolly Parton.
What is something you find challenging about your work?
Learning and remembering everyone’s names since I am new.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A famous singer
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I’d like to win the lottery and own a small isolated farm in Central Florida for all of my future dogs to run around on.
Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?
Scuba diving, paddle boarding, hiking, and avid concertgoer.
What’s your favorite thing to do on the weekends?
Hang out with my dog named Oscar and cat named Moonpie.
What’s a skill you’d like to improve on?
My social skills. I tend to be a pretty quiet and reserved person.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
100% an introvert
What piece of advice would you give your 18 year old self?
Trust that things will work out the way they are meant to. And stop worrying so much! Worrying just puts yourself through it twice.
